I recently had a (soon to be former) client's wife post negative reviews of me on Yahoo and Avvo. While I don't think either of these places have ever generated clients for me, I don't like these sitting out there. They contain objectively inaccurate statements, and are written as though she's my client when she's not. I'd like to have them taken down, and am wondering if any of you have dealt with attempting to have a site remove negative reviews before.
My current plan is to ask the sites to take them down (which is particularly unlikely with Avvo, since I haven't claimed my profile, and would prefer not to do so), then ask the client's wife to take them down, then threaten a libel lawsuit, then potentially file a libel lawsuit (because again, there are statements that are demonstrably untrue).
Any experiences or advice on the issue before I go forward?
