Announcing Lawyerist Sites Pre-Release: Get a Blog or Website Designed by Lawyerist!

I'm excited to announce Lawyerist Sites, the best place to host your law firm website or blog. This project is in early pre-release mode, but we're opening it up to LAB members.

Discount for early participants

We will waive the $500 signup fee for the first 5 people to sign up. That's a pretty sweet deal. That means you pay just the regular $99/month fee.

What you get

For $99/month, you get a custom-built law firm website or blog. We will build it on WordPress and Thesis, the best content management system and design framework there is.

That means you will be able to easily edit the content of your site, add pages, change the menus, publish blog posts, add widgets and plugins, and more.

What's more, we'll help you. Our knowledgebase is young, but growing. We will (digitally) hold your hand so you can do what you need to do with your website.

What a Site looks like

Here's my startup law blog, hosted on Lawyerist Sites: http://startuplawyer.mn

What's not included

While we will build you a great-looking website, we won't design a logo for you. Karin Conroy will, though, and you can order the Branding Package from her for just $400 at checkout.

Likewise, while we will use basic best SEO practices when putting your website together, we won't do the kind of in-depth search engine optimization you might be looking for. If you want a jump start on that, AttorneySync has a Ground Floor SEO package for just $400.

We won't write the content of your pages for you. You'll have to give that to us — although we're working on getting a copywriting package from a professional copywriter.

We won't give you admin access to your site so you can break it unless you pay us an extra $50 per month. You don't need admin access to create and edit pages, change menus, and so on. Admin access lets you get at the code of your Site (CSS and PHP), which means you can break your Site. If you pay for admin access, though, you can break your Site all you like, and we'll even try to help you fix it if you do break it.

More info on add-ons here.

What "early pre-release mode" means

"Early pre-release mode" means that we still have a lot of polishing to do. As you can see, LawyeristSites.com is very much under construction, but we need to bring in some Sites to give our platform a workout and work the kinks out of our procedures.

For example, we have a knowledgebase that needs more knowledge in it. We have a billing platform that may require a little of our patience. It may take us a little longer than usual to set up additional features.

It does not mean you have to worry about your site going down. Lawyerist Sites is build on WordPress and Thesis, the same content management system and framework that power Lawyerist and the LAB.

It does not mean you have to worry about losing your website. If, for some reason, Lawyerist Sites is an abysmal flop, we will make it easy for you to move your site to your own hosting (which should be pretty easy, since we already have the definitive guide).

How to sign up

For now, we've hidden the signup page. Use the LAB contact form to let me know you are interested, and I will get you to the right place.

Edit: This is only available to LAB members, at this point.

Questions?

The Lawyerist Sites FAQ is live and mostly filled out — although since nobody is actually asking questions at this point, I may not have covered yours. If not, visit the pre-sales forum and post a new topic with your question.
